Our 9th fun sports event at the Royal Hospital School was a great success! Nearly 200 people with disabilities enjoyed the event on Thursday 30th June 2011. Teams came from all over Suffolk and from as far as Kent, Essex and Cambridgeshire. The teams competed in various games including welly wanging, hockey, egg and spoon, golf, throwing and basketball.
The overall trophy was won by the Teversham Tigers from Cambridge who beat the Dragon Lords from Otley College in a penalty shoot out final! There were also prizes for the runners up, and for the best banner and a 'spirit of the games' prize.
David Finn, Optua's Leisure Services Manager, said: "The event was a great success and everyone had a wonderful time. As always we're really grateful to the RHS whose students and staff gave us terrific support on the day, as well as The PJK Charitable Trust who helped to fund the event."
There was a really colourful report from the day in the Evening Star on 6th July and you can see more photos at our flickr pages.
