Share 2012 - Share celebrates in 2012!
On Saturday 21 April, just over 350 people joined in Optua's annual day of arts activities at Thurston Community College. This was our 27th Share Day providing opportunities for people to try different art forms and have lots of fun together.
This year, we decided to celebrate 2012 and the theme of the whole event was inspired by the Olympics, Paralympics and the Queen's diamond jubilee, and as a result Optua was awarded a coveted 2012 Inspire Mark which is only given to projects genuinely inspire by the Olmypic Games.
People said this event was great in building self-confidence and that it was brilliant to have such positive and enthusiastic volunteers. We think so too as it just would not be possible to put this together without the sterling efforts of such a super group of people, ranging in age from 12 years to over 70.
We would like to thank everyone who shared the day with us, by giving their time, energy and expertise or helped to fund it, to make this one of the best loved events for people of all ages and abilities in Suffolk.
